Wouldn’t it be great for your dentist to make each visit relaxed and enjoyable?

That is exactly what we do here at Thaxted Dental Centre

How we hope to de-stress your visit

Visiting the dentist can cause even the best of us to become a little anxious. But maintaining your oral health is crucial, so it is necessary to regularly visit your dentist despite any fears you may have.

“That’s why I also try to make you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible.”

Carolyn Copping BDS Dentist

Here at Thaxted Dental Centre, our friendly and sympathetic team completely understand people’s anxieties, so we try to make your time here as comfortable as possible.
During your examination, we will explain everything to you in a way that is easy to understand. There will be no surprises and you will know exactly what to expect next; whether that is air blowing, water spraying or vibration. If you know what to expect, then this naturally puts your mind at ease.

Our chair is specially upholstered in ‘memory foam’ which will give you maximum comfort and support while you’re receiving treatment. There are also additional bolster pillows for firm back or neck support if you wish.

If we need to numb an area up (perhaps for a filling) then we can use anaesthetic gel, and our “Wand” system which is much less uncomfortable than a conventional syringe.
Water, tea and coffee are also available, and when we need to discuss your treatment with you we have a comfortable private room away from the surgery for this purpose. You’ll also have a written and costed treatment schedule, so you know what is planned and the cost every time you visit.

If you are nervous about visiting the dentist, the best thing you can do is give our team a quick call on 01371 830 950 and explain how you’re feeling. Your fear will be taken very seriously and every step will be taken to ensure you have an enjoyable visit.

How you can help to de-stress your visit

Rushing around can make anybody feel a little tense, and that’s why it is a great idea to arrive in plenty of time for your appointment. You can then have a few moments of calm, perhaps with a cup of tea or coffee before your appointment.

If you want to, you are very welcome to bring your iPod or mobile phone and headphones so you can listen to your own choice of music whilst you are with us. Alternatively, we have comfortable headphones so you can bring a favourite CD to listen to during treatment.

If you do have any questions about your visit, the best thing you can do is call our team on 01371 830 950 and share your thoughts with us. We will endeavour to help you as best we can.
